MIRI- Today, SOP Foundation proudly sponsored the Inter Miri Division Primary Schools Choral Speaking Competition, highlighting SOP's commitment to promoting education and supporting youth in Sarawak. Held at Mega Hotel in Miri, the competition attracted 335 participants from fifteen (15) schools across the Miri Division.
The event featured captivating performances by talented students, evaluated by esteemed judges who offered valuable feedback to motivate students to excel in their performances and creativity. The Best Conductor Award was presented to Alyssa Bulan Arthur of SK Jalan Bintang, while the Best Script Award was claimed by SJK C Chung Hua Pujut. The Champion was awarded to SJK C Chung Hua Miri, with SK Jalan Bintang, SK Miri, SK Senadin, and SK Anchi following in Second to Fifth Places respectively.
Mr. Grispin Sahah, Assistant Officer of the Miri District Education Office, Student Development Sector, expressed gratitude to SOP Foundation for their generous sponsorship and unwavering support throughout the event. "SOP Foundation's financial support and dedication to providing platforms for students to perform are invaluable, especially in the education sector here in Miri," he remarked.
Tho Kheng Chiang, General Manager of Plantation at SOP, emphasised SOP Foundation's dedication: "We are honoured to sponsor this event and support meaningful school initiatives." He continued, "Just yesterday, we supported the secondary schools’ choral speaking competition at Imperial Hotel, demonstrating our commitment to continuous support for education. Competitions like these foster English language skills and presentation abilities among participants, inspiring the younger generation towards personal and socioeconomic advancement."
