Miri – SOP Foundation awarded 189 exceptional students from various secondary schools in Sarawak with its Young Achievers Award (YAA).
To mark this occasion, the foundation hosted a handover ceremony in the regions of Marudi at SMK Marudi, and Sebauh at SMK Sebauh. Recognizing the diverse and often remote locations of the schools, SOP Foundation took the initiative to ensure that the award presentations were made personally in each area, including Lambir, Bakong, Niah, Suai, Tatau, and Balingian.
SOP foundation believes deeply in the transformative power of education and chose to honor students who excelled in the 2023 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examinations. Through the YAA program, these students received cash awards and certificates as a source of inspiration and motivation for local youth to pursue their academic goals.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, SOP Foundation prioritizes educational support, especially in underserved rural communities. SOP foundation is dedicated to helping underprivileged children realize their educational aspirations and fostering a passion for learning.
Since its inception in 2016, the SOP Foundation has recognized and awarded a total of 1,392 deserving students through the YAA program. While the SOP company excels in the oil palm sector, the foundation also actively engages with local communities through various
initiatives, including the Students Adoption Programme (SAP), SOP Foundation Vision Care Project, and the Healthy Strides Malaysia program in collaboration with the Healthy Strides Foundation Australia.
